EQUESTRIAN CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS BY MD ANTHONY

AMERICAN BARN
Site:  Rathmoy Stables, Newmarket, Suffolk

Construction – 36m long x 13m span steel portal frame building to form and 18 box American barn with vet and tack rooms complete with purpose designed penthouse ventilator units.

Building Performance – 80mm thick insulated composite roof panels to support a tiled roof complete with vented penthouse turrets have not only helped with the environmental qualities but have also enhanced the aesthetics.

Site and Delivery – The site, situated adjacent to Newmarket Racecourse, together with the very high expectations of the client in respect of noise and site housekeeping, demanded the highest level of effective contract planning and management as befits a working stable yard.

Awards – Overall winner of the Equestrian category in the 2017 RIDBA Building Awards.

COVERED RIDING AREA
Site:  Rathmoy Stables, Newmarket, Suffolk

Construction – Purpose designed covered racehorse training facility.  Roof and walls clad in TATA single skin box profile plastisol coated steel cladding complete with purpose bent plastisol coated steel flashings.

Building Performance – The steel frame, exposed to the elements is galvanised to minimise the need for maintenance and prolong the lifespan of the building.

Design Considerations - The unique and unusual shape of the structure required a high level of initial design input and a high degree of skill on site to ensure that all cladding and steel junctions were completely watertight whilst also being aesthetically pleasing.

Awards – Finalist in the Equestrian category in the 2017 RIDBA Building Awards.
